CDCP Eligibility: Making Dental Care More Accessible for You

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is being introduced in phases to help more Canadians receive the dental care they need. Starting in May 2025, applications are opening for the following age groups:

  • May 1, 2025: Individuals aged 55 to 64

  • May 15, 2025: Individuals aged 18 to 34

  • May 29, 2025: Individuals aged 35 to 54

To be eligible for the CDCP, you must meet these requirements:

  • No Existing Dental Coverage
    You must not have access to any dental insurance—whether through your employer, a private plan, or a family member’s coverage.

  • Income Requirement
    Your adjusted family net income must be less than $90,000.

  • Filed Tax Return
    You (and your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable) must have filed your taxes for the previous year.

  • Canadian Residency
    You must be a resident of Canada for tax purposes.
